Welcome to Courtney Cole’s Storyworlds (“Storyworlds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use and Privacy Policy apply to courtneycolecreates.com and its related pages, memberships, reader experiences, digital features, shops, communities, and services.

By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using Storyworlds, you agree to these terms.

Terms of Use

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Storyworlds account.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use Storyworlds and make purchases.

Storyworlds is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create accounts, upload photographs, participate in community features, or submit personal information.

2. Reader Accounts and Passports

Registered readers may receive a digital Storyworlds passport and access to personalized features.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information

• Maintaining the security of your login credentials

• Keeping your email address current

• Activities performed through your account

• Notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization

Passport names do not need to be legal names. Readers may use a first name, chosen name, and last initial.

Passport numbers, stamps, memories, credentials, achievements, artifacts, letters, and other digital records are features of Storyworlds. They have no cash value and may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged between accounts.

3. Passport Portraits and Avatars

Readers may be permitted to upload a photograph, select an avatar, or use initials for their private digital passport.

You must have the right to use any image you upload. Do not upload photographs of another person without permission.

A passport portrait is separate from a public community profile image. We will not intentionally display a private passport portrait publicly unless you deliberately select or upload that image for a public-facing feature.

4. Membership Plans

Storyworlds may offer free and paid passport classes, including Explorer, Reader, and Curator plans.

The features, prices, billing periods, and benefits of each plan will be displayed when you subscribe. Paid plans may renew automatically until canceled, as explained during checkout.

You may cancel a recurring plan through your account or by contacting us at courtneycolewrites@gmail.com. Cancellation generally prevents future renewal and does not automatically refund charges already paid, except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase.

Membership features may evolve as Storyworlds grows. We may add, modify, replace, or retire features, provided that we do not intentionally remove a material paid benefit without offering a reasonable substitute, notice, or other appropriate remedy.

5. Purchases and Gift Shop

Products, prices, discounts, shipping terms, availability, and return information will be displayed in the gift shop or at checkout.

Passport rewards and discounts:

• May require specific stamps, seals, credentials, or participation

• May be limited to one use

• May have expiration dates

• May exclude certain products, shipping, taxes, or combined promotions

• Have no cash value

• May be changed or discontinued when reasonably necessary

Physical products may vary slightly from photographs because of manufacturing, materials, screens, and handmade details.

6. Storyworlds Content and Intellectual Property

Storyworlds and its original content belong to Courtney Cole or applicable licensors. This includes, without limitation:

• Books, episodes, scenes, characters, and fictional settings

• Artwork, photographs, maps, letters, records, and designs

• Passport and stamp designs

• Virtual tours

• Audio and video

• Website copy and layouts

• Logos, branding, and Storyworlds terminology

• Edward’s character, dialogue, and presentation

• Archive materials, memories, puzzles, and interactive experiences

Your access is personal and noncommercial. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, scrape, train artificial-intelligence systems on, or create unauthorized derivative works from Storyworlds content.

Ordinary sharing of official links and designated promotional images is welcome.

7. Reader Submissions

Readers may be allowed to submit profile information, photographs, journal notes, messages, theories, comments, reviews, or other content.

You retain ownership of your original submissions. By deliberately posting content in a public or community area, you grant us a limited, nonexclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and format that content as needed to operate the relevant feature.

Private journal entries, passport information, and private account materials are not treated as public submissions merely because they are stored through Storyworlds.

Do not submit content that:

• Infringes another person’s rights

• Contains unlawful threats, harassment, hate, or abuse

• Reveals another person’s private information

• Contains malicious software or deceptive links

• Impersonates another person

• Is sexually exploitative or inappropriate involving minors

• Is primarily spam, advertising, or solicitation

We may moderate, hide, or remove community content and may restrict accounts that violate these rules.

8. Community Features

Future social spaces may allow readers to discuss Storyworlds, characters, clues, and theories.

Community participation may require a public member profile visible to other registered members. Readers will be given a privacy choice during registration and may be able to change their profile settings later.

Community opinions belong to the readers who post them. They do not necessarily represent Courtney Cole or Storyworlds.

Spoilers may be permitted in designated areas. Readers are responsible for observing posted spoiler labels and discussion rules.

9. Edward and AI-Assisted Features

Edward is an interactive fictional Storyworlds concierge. Some Edward features may use artificial-intelligence technology and third-party service providers to generate responses.

Edward may make mistakes, misunderstand questions, or provide incomplete responses. His responses are part of an immersive entertainment experience and should not be relied upon as medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice.

Do not submit highly sensitive personal information to Edward. Conversations may be processed and stored as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, evaluate, and improve the feature.

Edward will not be authorized to complete purchases, change memberships, issue rewards, unlock credentials, or alter reader records unless the website actually performs and confirms that action.

10. Availability and Changes

Storyworlds is an evolving creative project. Features may be added, updated, interrupted, or removed.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or that every Storyworld, mystery, archive, tour, reward, or interactive experience will remain unchanged.

We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, technical problems, legal requirements, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

11. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to:

• Protect readers, Storyworlds, or third parties

• Prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, or unlawful activity

• Enforce these Terms

• Address payment disputes or chargebacks

• Comply with legal obligations

You may request account deletion by contacting courtneycolewrites@gmail.com. Some information may be retained when required for transactions, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

12. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Storyworlds is provided for entertainment and literary engagement on an “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of Storyworlds.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any legal dispute not subject to another legally required venue will be handled in the appropriate courts serving Duval County, Florida.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Storyworlds changes. The effective date at the top will be revised when updates are published.

If a change materially affects paid memberships or the use of personal information, we will provide additional notice when reasonably required.

Privacy Policy

Depending on how you use Storyworlds, we may collect:

Passport and profile information

• Uploaded portrait, selected avatar, or initials

• Storyworlds and destinations visited

• Puzzles, passwords, or interactive features completed

Reader-created content

• Field-journal notes

Payment information is generally processed by Wix and its payment providers. We do not ordinarily receive or store your complete payment-card number.

Technical information

• IP address

• Browser and device information

• Operating system

• Approximate location derived from an IP address

• Cookie identifiers

• Referring pages

• Website activity, errors, and security events

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Create and secure reader accounts

• Issue and personalize passports

• Save stamps, memories, artifacts, notes, and progress

• Provide membership benefits

• Process purchases and subscriptions

• Deliver physical and digital products

• Operate community and interactive features

• Respond to questions and support requests

• Send account, security, purchase, and service messages

• Send marketing only where permitted or requested

• Detect fraud, spam, abuse, or technical problems

• Analyze and improve Storyworlds

3. Marketing Communications

Creating an account does not automatically require readers to subscribe to promotional email.

If you join an email list, you may unsubscribe through the link in the email or by contacting us.

We may still send necessary service messages about account security, purchases, subscriptions, policy changes, or features you requested.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Storyworlds, including providers for:

• Website hosting and membership management

• Payment processing

• Email delivery

• Analytics and security

• File and image storage

• Order fulfillment and shipping

• Customer support

• Artificial-intelligence features

These providers may process information only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

We may also disclose information:

• When required by law or valid legal process

• To protect rights, safety, property, or security

• To investigate fraud or abuse

• In connection with a business transfer, reorganization, or sale

We do not knowingly sell personal information for money.

5. Public and Private Information

Passport portraits, private journal entries, reading progress, account details, and private dashboard materials are intended to remain private unless a reader deliberately shares them.

If you choose a public member profile or post in a community area, your chosen display name, avatar, posts, and related activity may be visible to other registered members.

Do not post information publicly that you do not want other members to see.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Storyworlds and its service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep readers signed in

• Remember preferences

• Maintain security

• Operate shopping and membership features

• Understand website use

• Measure performance

• Prevent fraud and spam

Where required, visitors may manage nonessential cookies through the website’s cookie banner or browser settings. Disabling some cookies may prevent certain Storyworlds features from working properly.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Account and passport records may remain while an account is active. Transaction records may be retained longer for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes.

When an account is deleted, some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where legally required. Public community posts may be anonymized rather than deleted when necessary to preserve the continuity of discussions.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain.

No website or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Readers should use strong passwords, protect their login credentials, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Correct inaccurate information

• Request deletion

• Obtain a portable copy

• Restrict or object to certain processing

11. Children’s Privacy

Storyworlds is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts or submit personal information.

If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 submitted personal information should contact courtneycolewrites@gmail.com.

12. Third-Party Links

Storyworlds may link to shops, social networks, music services, booksellers, or other third-party websites.

Their privacy practices and content are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites merely because Storyworlds links to them.

We may update this Privacy Policy when Storyworlds, our service providers, or applicable requirements change.

The effective date at the top will identify the current version. We will provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
