Prepare yourself... I'm back!
Updated: Jan 20
Have you ever lost your way a little bit? Like, your vision became clouded, and you just weren't sure what your next steps should be, or even what you really wanted?
That's been me for the past year-ish. You may have noticed... I've taken a bit of a sabbatical. It was for a few reasons, but mainly, I was just tired. Like... REAL TIRED.
My website had gotten stolen by hackers, along with my Facebook page-- both of which I'd spent over a decade building. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The book world at the time was a pretty ugly place- a couple of my books had been targeted by a "competitor." Authors were getting 'canceled' by mean girls on Twitter. I had a million book ideas, but didn't know which way to go... what did readers even want to read? I wasn't sure anymore.
So I took a break. I've spent this time learning how to live with MS, how to be healthy, how to take care of my ENTIRE self- including my sanity. I rescued a Great Dane pup-- she's really helping heal the hole in my heart from losing Atticus two years ago.
Here are Lucy and I, first thing in the morning, with matching mom buns, no makeup, no filter:

Mostly, I've decided I'm no quitter. I'm going to rebuild my website, my socials. I'm going to write whatever I feel like writing-- when an author is passionate about something, it shines through to the readers. I know that I'm a good person who tries to do the right thing always- so I'm not going to worry about being canceled.
I'm going to be unapologetically ME. Flaws, strengths, bruises, scars...and all my bright, shiny bits.
I'm writing again- I'm currently working on not one, not two, but THREE new books, and I'm doing what I do best... messing with your emotions.
I'm restarting my newsletter-- and I'm actually thinking of turning it into a very visual monthly magazine, but we'll see. Either way, if you haven't signed up yet, feel free to do it now. I'm going to be talking books (not just mine, but other fantastic works of literature out there), living with MS, and whatever else I feel might bring you value. I'm a big believer in learning from our experiences... so I want to share things that I think will help you.
Anyway, this is just a note to say-- I'm back. I'm here. Stay tuned for more from me this year. 2023 is going to be AMAZING!
Hugs and love,
